Show to love and r espec~ as a man 01 God . There was a l arge attendance a t mee~ing that day and Elder Morgan gave the people a comprehensive gospel t alk and much good advice and counsel . He also had sustained as off icers o!' the Haywood Branch the ~ following : Elder T. A. LawTence , Branch President; John J . Barbour as First counselor; and Gabrial Barbour as Second Counselor. That night he stayed at the George w. Wilson home, but on the f ollowing morning went to the T. A. Lawrence home where he spent the day in consultation with the Branch President concerning church ma tters . on the morning o:i:' the 7th oi- r~ ovember , 1877 , he , with "Tobe" Wilson , started f or McLemores cove . It was a long and tedious trip over ~he mountains and it was dark when they arrived at the home of William c . Kilgore in the · Cove . It had rained most of the day. The next day they went dovvn to HOr"ten' s Chapel where they t ouncl all well and in good spirits . The day was s pent in counseling with the brethren concerning emigra"tion and church matters . November 9 , 1877 was spent at cassandra; I irst a t the home of Bart Fawcett's and l ater a t :Dixon B a ile y~ · wnere .he spent the night . After dinner , the next day , they star"ted back f or the Cove; waded the Chicamagua River and arrived at the home of William C. Kilg ore in the evening where they stayed that night . sunday, n ovember 11 , he held meeting in the Cove Springs Church and made his !'arewell talk to these people . In the 11 a .m-. meeting , he ordained and set apart William C1 • Kilgore to preside over "the McLemore r s Cove-Beech Cre6k·Branch and appointed El der Henry • Mitchell to preach to the people . ne spen"t most of the next day in filling lin his journal and writing letters .
