As soon as regular game are scheduled with other teams we will have a more successful team, for the prospect of such games will draw out good players who would not appear otherwise. And when this condition is reached, contests with schools of other states will be a certainty. The only important game of the season, that with the B. Y, C. at Logan, was won, after an exciting contest, by the close score of 8 to 7.The season of 1908 promises to be one of greater success. A league composed of the teams from the different colleges of the state has been arranged and will include the B. Y. C, B. Y. U., A. C, and the U. of U., with possibly the L. D. S. The outlook for our team is better than ever. Practically the whole team is back again, with an abundance of new material, including some phenomenal basemen and pitchers. These, under the captainship of Simpson, with the support of the students, will laid the pennant for Utah.(199) |
