Kansas City, Tort Scott and Memphis Railroad.-By act of Congress of March 28, 1896 (29 Stat. L., p. 77, and p. 427 of this report), this company was granted right of way for the extension of its line of road into the Indian Territory, from a point on the south line of the State of Kansas, near the city of Baxter Springs, to the town of Miami, with the right also to take and use for station purposes a strip of land 100 feet in width by a length of 2,000 feet in addition to right of may, to the extent of one station for each 10 miles of road. Maps of definite location of the line of road have not yet been filed for approval. St. Louis, Oklahoma and Southern Raileay-By act of Congress of March 30,1896, which became a law on that date without the approval of the President (29 Stat. L., p. 80, and p. 438 of this report), this com-pany was granted right of way throngh the Indian Territory and the Territory of Oklahoma- Beginning at 8 point to be selected by said railroad company at and between Claremore and Sapulpa, on the St. Lou18 and San Frmcisoo Railroad, in the Cher-okee aod Creek nations, Indian Territory, and running thence in a westerly and southerly direction over the most practiaabla and feasible route through or near the Cherokee, Creek. Seminole, and Chiekassw nations. Arkanam Northwestern Railmay.-By act of Congress of April6,1896, which became a law on that date without the approval of the President (29 Stat. L., p. 87, and 11.432 of this report), this company was granted right of way through the Indian Territory, beginning at a point to be selected by said railway company at or near the town of Southwest City, in the county of McDonald, State of Missouri, and running thence in a northwest direction over the most practicable route throngh the Indian Territory, toa point between Chetopa and Baxter Springs, in the State of Kansas, with the right to construct, use, and maintain such tracks, |
