Voorhies, for the period of ten years, to embrace an area not exceeding 1 square mile. The rate of royalty for the first three years has been fixed at 3 per cent of the net sampler returns; the rate of royalty for the remainder of the term to be fixed by the Secretary of the Interior. Thelease was approved February 10, 1896. Si~iceit s approval the lease has been assigned to the Carrizo Xlining Company. Eickapoo Reservation, Kans.-One farming and grazing lease in favor of George W. Leverton, for the period of five yeaw from March 1,1896. Area, 5,828 acres; annual rental, $5,973.70. Lease approved on April 13, 1896. Covers all the tribal or unallotted lauds on the reservation, except 640 acres temporarily reserved for school purposes. Ponca Reseruation, 0kla.-Two grazing lea,ses, each for the period of one year from April 1,1396. East Ponca Pasture, estimated to contain 33,000 acres, to James W. Lynch, a,t an annual rental of $1,500. West Ponca Pasture, estimated to contain 33,000 acres, to George W. Miller. at an annual rental of $2,500. Otoe and Missonria Reservation.-Two grazing leases, each for the period of one year from April 1,1896. The north half of the West Otoe Pasture, estimated to contain 20,000 acres! to Frank Wither-spoo11, at an annual rental of $1,300. The south half of the West Otoe Pasture, estimated to contain 20,000 acres, to Isaac T. Pryor, at an a.unual rental of $17300. Shoshone Reservation, Wyo., and Utah Resernation, Utah.-No ad-ditional leases o~ these reservations have been executed during the past year. For existing leases see page 37 of Annual Report for 1894 and for 1895. Allotted 1snda.-Since the date of the last annual report the following leases of allotted lauds have been approved: Cheyenne and Arapaho Agenoy, OkZa.-Twenty-nine farming and grab ing leases. The leugth of term is generally five years. The cash con-sideration paid the allottees at this agency ranges low, from 17 to 624 cents per acre'per annum, the principal part of the consideratiou eon-sisting in improvements to be placed upon the laud by the lessees. Four farming and grazing leases have been executed upon which no action has been taken. Qrande Ronde Reservation, 0reg.-One farming lease. The length of term is for three years. The consideration to be paid is one-third of the crop raised. Orem Bay Agency, Wis.-One farming and grazing lease on the Oneida Reservation. This lease is drawn in favor of Charles F. Peirce, superintendent of the Oneida Iudiau Industrial School, the laud being leased for the use of that school. The length of term is three years. The considemtion is $2.50 per acre per annum.
