| Show RULES FOR THE SANPETE HISTORICAL WRITING CONTEST The Sanpete Historical Writing Contest is open to all Sanpete County residents and former residents Contestants may enter in either Professional or Non-Professional Divisions Each entry must state clearly the division in which it is to be entered al ivision wijudged in five categories Anecdotes Poetry Short Story Historical Essay and Personal Recollection cash prize of ten dollars will be awarded for first place and complimentary books for other prizes All entries must be based on actual events existing legends or traditions in Sanpete County and must be consistent with the time period All entries must be the original work of the contestant in keeping with good literary standards and must be authentic and fully documented The entry must never have been published or must not now be in the hands of an editor and or other person to be published It must not be submitted for publication elsewhere until the contest is decided Only one entry in each category may be submitted by each contestant Three copies of each entry are required Names or other means of identification must not appear on manuscripts Each entry must be accompanied by one separate1by 1l inch sheet bearing name and address of author title first line of entry and the division in which it is to be entered Manuscripts must be typewritten and double spaced and the number of words or lines written on the first page of the entry 10 Judges are selected by the Contest Chairmen and members of the Saga Committee Judges have the right to award or not award prizes or honorable mention to entries The judges decision will be final 11 Entries must be postmarked no later than April 30 1987 Entries not accompanied withstamped self-addressed envelope will not be returned vi |
