B O U L E N G E R, F.R.S. [Beceived March 11, 1901.] (Plates XXIII. & XXIV.1) Mr. F. W. Styan, F.Z.S., who has added so largely to our knowledge of the Fishes of the Yantse-kiang2, has lately brought home a small collection made at Ningpo, which he has presented to the British Museum. Few freshwater Fishes have hitherto been collected in this district, a single species having been described from the collection of Abbe David ', and a few from a series sent, by the Chinese Government to the Berlin Fisheries Exhibition in 1883 \ It is therefore not surprising to find representatives of some new species in the small series brought together by Mr. Styan. These belong to the family Cyprinida?, so richly represented in the fresh waters of China. CROSSOCHILUS STYANI, sp. nov. (Plate XXIII. fig. 1.)
