We have worked with the same stone and adobe of which the building is constructed. TOTAL $ 5,500 AVAILABILITY - We are in a position to commit the resources necessary to start immediately on the project. Seeing this project advance to this stage is truly a dream come true as far as I am concerned. Much has transpired in the last three years in the life of this building, even though a small bit at a time, in the evolution of the concept of saving it. The next few months will be singularly important; however', in properly setting the stage for its eventual restoration. ASSESSMENT - The very first technical step in the process of preservation and eventually restoration is to thoroughly assess all aspects, including the building's physical condition and its history. This becomes the basis for why it is important to save it by stabilization. NOMINATION - In the case of an historically significant building, the final step in the Assessment is actually verifying the correctness of that work by submission of the proper Nomination Documents to have the building placed on the National Register of Historic Places and/or its Restoration Certified. and hope you wi.ll E. The new work must be adequately detailed to assure that it will be compatible with former and existing work.
