Roberts, Ar c hitect Coo pe r /Roberts Archite c ts AlA 202 We s t 300 North Salt Lake City, UT 8410 3 Dear Allen: I have reviewed the engineering submitted for the buildings at 111/115 - 25th Street and concur with the engineer's proposals for the engineering that has been submitted. There are some minor points that I would like to discuss when the plans are prepared as to proposals for repair or upgrading of the roof support system, primarily for clarification. The only concern I have remaining is that there has been nothing submitted to calculate the lateral resistance of the bui 1ding based on the new connections of the roofs and floors. Under the Uniform Code for Building Conservation, as I sent to you. this would be required at some point for this bui 1ding. I real ize at this time every effort is being made to make the building safe and that is, of course, our primary concern. However, before the bu i 1ding is a 11 owed to be occup i ed, th is issue of se i smi c res i stance would need to be resolved. It would probably serve your purpose as well as the City's to consider that issue. I am send i ng a memo to Ward Ogden of the Nei ghborhood Deve 1opment Agency indicating to him that the engineering through March 1, 1990, is acceptable.
