Landhaus fiir Herrn Thaxter Shaw, Montreal. Ein Plan ftir ein Haus aus behauenem Granit an der Bergs&e in Montreal. Auf beiden Seiten fiihren Wege nach einer Vorderterrasse mit bedecktem Pavilion. Eingang durch eine Loggia van dieser Terrassenebene zu den Wohnzimmern im Nauptstock, welcher mit dem Hinter- und Seitengarten in gleicher M?ihe liegt. Schlafr&une dariiber. Ein charaliteristisches ,,Prairie house"""", Phnlich im Plan den Thomas-, Hem-&y- und Coonley-HBusern. Dieser Plan wurde sp2eer weiter ausgearbeitet und als Plan ftir das Robie-Haus verwendet. AusstellutlgsgebPude, enthaltend einen Ausstellungsraum und ein Vortragszimmer fiir die Larkin- Company in Jamestown-Exposition, aus Holz und (Miirtel) Sandstein. Tafel XXXVI. Brownes Buchhandlung, Chicago. 1907. Ein langer, schmaler Raum in einem Gebiude der Unterstadt in einen Biicherladen verwandelt. Die Wande und Decken wurden neugemacht und kleine Seitenzimmer mit Stiihlen und Tischen fiir die Bequemlichkeit der Kunden eingerichtet. Panele und WBnde sind aus gestrichenem farbigen Mijrtel, das Holzwerk aus grauem Eichenholz, die Fussbiiden aus elfenbeinfarbigem Magnesite, mit Messingstreifen ausgelegt. Die Beleuchtungs- gegenst2inde aus elfenbeinfarbigem Glas und Messing. Die Decke steigt leicht van den Seiten nach cler Mitte zu. Der kleine Raum unter der Galerie am Ende ist die ,,Kinclerecke"""". Tafel XXXVII. Stjdtisches Wohnhaus fiir Herrn F. C. Robie, Chicago. 1909. Eine Stadtvilla mie siidlicher Front, aus schmalen, braunen Ziegelsteinen mit Steinleisten. Die Dhcher sind mit Ziegeln gedeckt. Hauptgesimse au Kupfer. Ein einziger Zimmertypus, &nlich den Tomek-, Coonley- und Thomas-Hiusern, ganz nach Siiden gelegen, mit Balkon und ein- gefriedigtem Garten. Die Schlafr%ume im Belvedere. Garage mit clem Hause verbunden, fiber clieser die Dienerzimmer. Kein Kellergeschoss, ausser fiir den Heizofen und die Kohlen. Eine hochentwickelte Ausarbeitung der erg-anischen Beziehung zwischen .&usserem und Innerem; gerade, langgestreckte Linien und niedere Verhnltnisse mit dem charakteristischen Merkmal, dass Licht und Sonne iiberall Eingang finden. Ein Sommerhotel oder Gasthof auf &em mit Fichten bewachsenen Abhang des Coloradogebirges. Gebaut aus rotem Holz - die Mauern mit breiten, horizontalen Bohlen mit gestrichenen L&ten.
