Now," Katie turned to Roger, "I want her home by midnight. Not a quarter after-midnight on the nose." Sharon flushed. "Midnight," Roger said looking at her, "Does she turn into a pumpkin at midnight?" Sharon's face grew redder; she was turning into a pumpkin at that very moment-a stupid, silly jack o' lantern. Katie smiled. "I don't know about that. But I turn into a fierce, ugly bear if she's not." Roger laughed-a large, booming sound. "Well, she will be," he said, too loudly.
