This void creates misunderstanding where full historical context is necessary to understand issues and events in environmental history. Whatever the reasons for the lack of research on environmental journalism history, the need for more rigorous research in this area is clear. This chapter has examined the literature associated with Utah journalism history, Utah environmental history, the relationship of journalism and 1hc national parks, and environmental journalism history. Flowing from the gaps in the literature, Chapter 3 builds on the literature review by proposing research questions that add to the literature.
