Show __3__ The making of a topographic survey of an area of approximately 24,000 square miles of territory lying between the City and the Colorado River, the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, and the southern boundary of the State of California, and the making of various maps showing the results of such surveys, about 20,000 square miles thereof never having been topographically mapped before; the securing of rights of way over portions of said area and the building of roads and trails thereon and particularly the building of a sixteen mile gravel surface highway from Earp, California, to the Colorado River at a point thereon commonly known and referred to as the Intake of the Aqueduct on the Parker route; the investigation of possible and feasible dam sites on the Colorado River and of various reservoir sites; the surveying and mapping of several possible routes for the construction of an aqueduct between the Colorado River and the City, said routes being known and referred to as the Blythe, Black Canyon, Topock, Bull's Head, Parker, Pic-acho, All-American Canal and Bridge Canyon routes, together with engineering studies and estimates, maps and design drawings of canals, conduits, tunnels, siphons, transmission lines, pumping plants and force mains necessary to prepare estimates of cost for comparative purposes of the most feasible and economical route to be used to construct such aqueduct; the construction of a certain open unlined canal requiring the excavation of more than 500,000 cubic yards of earth; the drilling, perforating and pumping of several wells to determine the depth to, and the percolation of water in, gravels along a portion of the west bank of the Colorado River; the construction of a relief map depicting an area of approximately 65.000 square miles lying within an exterior boundary extending |
