J.UL.5.....1357 (Excerpt From Council Minutes of the City Council of the City of Los Angeles-Tuesday, June 9, 1925) Mr. Criswell presented the following resolution and moved its adoption: Whereas, the Council of the City of Los Angeles did at its meeting of June 8, 1925, canvass the returns of the special municipal election held Tuesday, June 2, 1925, upon the proposition hereinafter in this resolution set forth; and Whereas, said canvass was completed by the Council on said 8th day of June, 1925, and the Clerk of said Council was instructed to compute the result of said canvass and report such computation to the Council this day at the hour of 10 A.M.; and Whereas, the Clerk has this day reported to the Council the result of the computation made as directed by the Council, and it appears from said canvass of said returns that the total number of votes cast at said special municipal election was 102,000, and that at said election 86,154 votes were cast in favor of the proposition, and 15,846 votes were cast against the proposition submitted at said special municipal election.
