In this letter to George B. Sweazey, James Riach writes of Tom who is a student at the Salt Lake Collegiate Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. He writes of how he is ashamed of Tom for his behavior. Mr. Riach tells of how Tom's brother in Leadville, Colorado, had a hard time with keeping him out of trouble, and how Tom had lied to Mr. Riach about the sort of women he kept in company with.
