Show seems set in his purpose and says nothing else can be done. If I had of been fixed so that I could have kept it away from him I would have done so, but under the circumstances I could not keep it from him, and thought I was doing the honest thing in telling him the whole truth consequently this is what I get for it. I know it is a great disgrace and am very sorry about it. Especially on account of the girls. I dont want to leave them here alone to come home alone when school is out and I don't know what to do. I know it would make them feel awful had to have me go away and leave them. I think Sweazey is going entirely out of his sphere. He seems to want to judge me by my past actions not by what I am now. In this letter to his uncle, Thomas Riach writes that he is facing expulsion from school and regrets having to leave his sisters, who are also students at the school. He then complains about the school's principal judging him unfairly by his past.
