Show a slight disorder I think he had ought to take a different view of the matter. But I guess his mind is made up. Of course the third term ends the end of this week and that is not near as bad as breaking into the middle of one and leaving it unfinished. We have our examinations. now. I told him to write also to you about it so you could hear his side of the story. I have not told Ella and Lucy about it and will not till I hear from you and then will not tell them the real cause because it would shame them too much to know that they have a brother who is compelled to leave school. <br><br> We received your letter and the money this morning and thank you very much for the same Hoping you received home in safety<br> I remain your loving nephew <br><br> Thos Riach<br><br> |

In this letter to his uncle, Thomas Riach writes that he is facing expulsion from school and that he hasn't told his sisters, who are also students at the school. He comments that the third term will be finished by the end of the week and is grateful that if he leaves, at least it isn't during a midterm. He then warns his uncle that the school principal may write him. Lastly, Thomas reports that his uncle's letter with money was received that morning and thanks him for it.
