A Because it would have taken more time to bring the boats upstream that short distance than it did to go along the road. I cannot remember whether we rode horseback or went by wagon, but there was a road along the left bank which took us up practiccaly to the point where we quit work the season be-fore. By The Special Master: Q What was the month and year in which you surveyed from Moab to the Junction? A I started along the latter par of October, 1912, the best I remember, and we completed the survey in the latter part of November or first of December, 1912.
