In worked up as far as about nine miles from ther Ferry, and there heavy showers, and the level of the river would change, and we would find different conditions in the channel the next day; when we went up the river had raised a little and the channel would be somewhat different, and it would be still different when we came back that night. A Principally that at the sand banks the river starts cutting out a sand bar that has been previously deposited, and it keeps on until it has out through that, cut that out or cut the edge of it, either cut off the end, or has cut through it |
