In the matter of a new diversion structure for the Indians, this matter was also discussed on the ground by Farrow, Truesdell and Reed, and it was then the consensus of opinion that if a satisfactory arrangement could be made with the Santa Clara Bitch Company, it would be best to make the diversion in conjunction with that company at the site of their present heading, carry the Indian water in the company's ditch for a distance, and then cross the river by means of a syphon to some joint on the Indian ditch where it would be most convenient and best serve the desired purpose. You may, therefore, undertake the making of an agreement with the Ditch Company ana when completed to your satisfaction, submit it here for action by this Oftice. This matter should have early attention so that the present available funds may be used, if an agreement is reached. Sincerely yours, Commissioner. |
