Show the said channel at approximately eight miles in a south-easterly direction from the cultivated lands of the Indians in the immediate proximity of the village of Ak-chin hereinbefore described and continuing to its terminus at a point near the said village of JSk-chin in (approximately) Township h south, Range 3 east of the Gila and Salt River Meridian. The United States intends to construct and maintain such other canals and irrigation works as shall be necessary to irrigate the lands now occupied by its wards the Papago and Pima Indians, and such other lands as may be allotted to the said Indians by the Government, in the County of Pinal, State of Arizona, along the course of the Santa Cruz river and its branches and tributaries, said canals to commence at or near the reservoir site hereinbefore described, in the vicinity of the Jackrabbit mine, or such other suit~able points of diversion as may be selected by engineers of the Government, and to extend to the cultivated fields and lands now occupied by the said Papago and Pima Indians in Pinal county and to such other lands as may be allotted to them by the United States Government. The right to chAnge the pointS_ of diversion as hereinbefore designated is expressly reserved. This notice shall not be deemed in any particular a waiver of any property interests or right now or heretofore reserved, held, or claimed by the United States for Indians under any acts of Congress or the Executive Department of the Government, or under filings, notices, locations, appropriations, or claims heretofore made, posted, recorded, or acquired by purchase or- conveyance by or to the United States or its Indian wards.
