Notice is hereby given that the United States of America hereby locates, claims, and appropriates perpetually tie water of the Colorado River and its tributaries, torrential or otherwise, flowing in the channel cf the Colorado River to the extent of 600,000 acre feet per annul, for the purpose of Irrigation and domestic use en lands reserved for Indians in Yuma County, Arizona. The United States intends to construct and maintain a dam aoross the Colorado River for the diversion of water for said purposes at or near the point known as Head Gate Rook, or at such other suitable point along the oourse of the Colorado River as may be seleoted by the Engineers of the Government. The Ur.ited States intends to construct and maintain a canal en the east side of the Colorado River, commencing at a point in the vicinity of the said diversion dam, to be constructed across said river as hereinbefore described, and continuing to its terminus at the southern end of the Colorado River Reservation, for oonveying watsr to the said Indian lands* The right to change the point of diversion of said water is expressly reserved. This notice shall not be deemed in any particular a waiver of any property interests or rights now or heretofore reserved, held or claimed by the United States for Indians under any lots of Congress or the Executive Department of the Government or under filings, notices, locations, appropriations or claims heretofore made, posted, recorded, or aoquired by purchase or conveyance by or to the United States or its Indian wards.
