Show KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That I, James B. Alexander, Superintendent of the Pima Indian School, Gila River Indian Reservation, Arizona, in my official capacity as such officer for and on behalf of certain Pima & Papago Indians, wards of the United States of America, to-wit: Havilinas, Ben John, Juan E. Scott, Mark Evans, and all other Pima & Papa o Indians, resident in what is known as the Blackwater Indian Village on the north side of the Gila River, about twelve miles east of the Pima igency, Saca-ton, Arizona, and for and on behalf of the United States of America as guardian of said Indians, do hereby appropriate for use of said Indians, for irrigation, domestic use, stock and for any other beneficial purpose on/their lands on the said Reservation, three thousand (3»000) inches, miners' measurement of the flood-water flow of the water flowing in the Gila River, and at that point at which this notice is posted, to-wit: at a point on the Gila River and in the said Gila River, in Section Twelve (12), Township five (5) South, Range Eight (8) East cf the Base Line and Gila and Salt River Meridian, Pinal County, Territory of Arizona, approximately in the Northwest quarter of said section and about one fourth {%) of a mile South of the North line of said quarter-section; said appropriation of water to be in addition to all water heretofore appropriated for the use of the said Pima Indians at North Blackwater Settlement and heretofore used by them, and for the purpose of irrigating unsurveyed lands within the Gila River Indians Reservation, approximately in Sections 29, 30, 31» 32, and 33» Township four (Ij.) South, Range Eight (8) East, in Sections 22, 23, and 2k, Township four (U) South, Range seven (7) East and in Sections 2 and 3» Township five (5) South, Range eight (8) East of the Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian, and that Iri intend, in my official capacity as aforesaid, for the use and purposes aforesaid, to enlarge, build and maintain a dam in the said Gila River a t the place aforesaid, and at which point this notice is posted to divert the water thereof, and that I intend to enlarge, construct and maintain a canal from the said point of diversion of said water in a northwesterly direction to the |
