Show Chapter Six Sandy hadn't walked far when she realizea she was hungry. Sitting down on a large boulder by the path, she reached in her pocket and pulled out the spoon. "Verus, I'm hungry!" The low voice answered her. "I can't help you, Sandy." "Why can't you help me? And why are you talking to me up-sidedown and in that strange voice? What have I done that is so awful?" Sandy was close to tears. "You have taken things into your own hands and forced the bubble to land us in the Inner Mountains," replied Sandy's up-sidedown image. "What's so bad about that? I just wanted to look around for a minute and get some fresh air. Y/hy did you let the bubble take off?" "The bubble took off because we were out of it, not because I let it. I was in your pocket, remember?" Verus' voice souided severe. "And now," she continued, " we are lost in the Inner Mountains, and who knows what danger we could be in!" "B-but can't you help me at all?" "Well, that depends on you, Sandy. I can't help you when youftre not willing to take my advise." "I'm sorry, Verus. I'll listen to you from now on. Please can we be friends?" Verus smiled. "Okay, Sandy. Come on - let's go find you some food!" Sandy breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you Verus. I like you much better right side up!" |
