Show Chapter Twenty Three "Verus! Is it really you?" Sandy couldn't believe her eyes. The young woman, her eyes sparkling, put her arms around Sandy and hugged her. "Yes, it's really me," she laughed. There was no doubting her, for her voice was the same, and light seemed to shimmer all around her. Lamm seemed confused. He watched the two in silence, his eyes clouding as he tried to remember the young woman. Finally,' he shook his head and laughed aloud. "That's what I get for being so old," he chuckled. "I'm sure I would never forget such beauty if I were a young man!" Verus kissed the old man on the cheek. "You have shown yourself to be very young, dear man. You have attempted what few men many years younger than you would have attempted. It took great courage to try to rescue us from Daemon." Sandy looked puzzled, "Verus, where is Daemon? And - and where did you come from?" Verus laughed. "I can see that I have a lot of explaining to do! Why don't we go to Daemon's castle where we can talk in comfort." She led Lamm and Sandy out of the pit and down the path to the castle. Two guards respectfully escorted the three into the throne room, and, bending low, left.
