Roa heard the morning noises, blinked the last traces of sleep from his eves, stretched and rolled nuietly off his mat bed. He looked around and cox1 Id see that his parents and brothers and sisters were still in the world of sleep. The rays of light had net yet penetrated through the thick fern forest and into the village where Roa's whare stood. The morning x-ras too wonderful to waste l^ing in bed. It would be a morning of rest and freedom -- there would be no battle drill until afternoon. Roa felt as though his strong lean body would burst with life.
