Show Psychotherapeutic Drug Use (Utah Household Survey on Substance Abuse) Psychotherapeutic drug use is defined by the Utah Household Survey on Substance Abuse as non-medical use of any prescription type stimulant, sedative, tranquilizer, or analgesic. It is a health risk to use prescription drugs outside a physician's care. In this survey, the percentage of Utahns reporting regular non-medical use of psychotherapeutic drugs generally remains higher than the nationwide rate in most categories. Table 85.
