Show Mortality, All Causes Utah's age-adjusted death rate for all causes has consistently been below the national average. Both Utah and the U.S. death rates declined significantly from 1980 to 1996, but with some evidence that the decline is leveling off. Over the same time, the Utah/U.S. ratio experienced a small but significant linear decline (p = 0.0078, slope = -0.002, r2= 0.3852). Table 26.
