Show Education There is a well-documented association between educational attainment and health. Such advantages increase with age and cannot be explained merely by household income1. Education is a factor that health scientists and demographers examine consistently and frequently. Although a higher level of education cannot be said to lead directly to improved health care, all of these factors affect access and utilization of health care and can help contribute to a healthier population. Utah still outperforms the nation in educational attainment. The jump in percentage of those persons holding a bachelors degree or greater, between 1990-1997, is notable.
