Show • 17- MC: Yah. GT: How long ago was that Day School created, do you remember, long time? MC: ( can't hear) GT: Was it there in the thirties, do you think? MC: No. GT: No. What about the twenties? MC: No. GT: The other day I was going through the records, the government records and the congressional records set which is the debates of congress and I found a bill that was passed in 1924 that talks about the creation of the Allen Canyon Day School. Do you know what they would be talking about? MC: There was no Day School down there. GT: There were no maps or anything. MC: But there was only one house, a government house there. Only a house and no Day School there. GT: I see. Was there a government person that occupied the house? MC: Um hum. They used to get flour and bacon, all kinds of things. GT: For rations? MC: Rations, yah. GT: How long ago was that, Mr. Cantsee? MC: Oh, about in 27. GT: When do you think they built: that house up there, the government built it? Was it there when you first can remember? MC: Yes, it was there. |
