Show - 27- MC: Seems like. GT: The language too? MC: Them kids of mine, they don't talk my language. GT: They don't know Ute very well, huh? MC: ( can't hear) GT: What about- did your parents tell you the stories of where you came from as a people and why you do certain things? Did your mother used to tell you those or your grandmother? MC: Yah, they told me ( can't hear). GT: Did they have an origins story that they would tell you, where you came from and all of that? MC: Yes. GT: Do you tell your children that? MC: Sometimes. GT: What about your wife? Was she brought up in that same kind of environment? Did her parents or grandparents tell her those? MC: I guess ( can't hear). GT: Ute. Was there a season when your parents would tell you those stories? Wintertime, be more stories told? MC: Yah. That's what they used to do in the wintertime. They would tell us a story. GT: They don't tell it. Everybody watches that at night. The television set. The big eye. MC: ( can't hear) GT: Bugs Bunny. MC: Yah. |
