Show - 5- GT: Are goats pretty hard to take care of? MC: Yeah, sometimes. GT: Do they wander around quite a bit? MC: Yeah ( can't hear) GT: I suppose you had some horses. MC: ? horses. GT: Did you use horses in your gardening the land or cultivating the land? MC? No, just riding around. GT: Just to ride them around. How many horses would you have in a- like in a normal year. Would you have ten horses or twenty? MC: No, about four or three. GT: Just enough to ride. Did your parents tell much about that incident up in Blanding where they rounded everybody up and put them in the compound up there? MC: Yes, that's where I was when I was maybe about two years old. GT: Oh, were you? MC: They say I'm born in 1923, that's the time they were up in there, GT: Yah, so you'd have been born maybe 1921 or 1920. MC: Yeah, around there. GT: That's why you said white man said you were born in 1923. MC: Right. GT: Did they come and gather up your family? MC: Yes. GT: I see, and how long did you spend in that compound? |
