So Victor wasn't too far from Cripple Creek. +J JIJ'.·" No. It took about a half hour, by~little train. t1 --Used to be a blind man usually on the train and he'd play his violin all the way across and people would throw coins into his cup, you know, .. And they'd come and stay a few days, roam around. L What did they look like. A I don't--just what one learns about jypsies you know. They were typically many skirted and bright clothes and like a scarf of bright colors around their heads and big.big, huge earings. And they told fortunes. But I thought they were bewitched somehow. So I was very frightened of them. And we had not many circuses. but one came. Barner and Baily came, and I'll always remember that. I was a little ~-- ...,~, bit older. I was about 9 or 10. And J ...-.. ~ ~~~ in between times ttiEt I was home and I remember how wonderfl I thought the circus was. And I think they are yet! I still like them. L They are grand spectacles. A Aren't they. J But, tt's just like the trainsJ Thres a certain romance about trains, the sound of the whistle and the lantern being swung around for "all aboard" that you don't forget. I guess I would like to go back to it, but, for awhile, just take one trip. But I guess it would be like going back to where you once lived or have been that you liked alot and--You can't go home again, is the saying. Atleast I've found. I ~ver went back to Victor. But places I've loved and WACR went back to in California, weren't the same. Maybe |
