Show Homicide (ICD-9Code: E960-E978) (1997 Total Deaths in Utah = 75) The age-adjusted death rate for homicide in Utah is 44% that of the nation. The U.S. rate had been at a high of approximately 10.5 between 1990 and 1994. This number dramatically dropped in 1995 to 8.8 deaths per 100,000. Since 1995, the national rate has continued to decrease, while Utah's rate has remained relatively stable. Utah males are twice as likely to die from homicide than are Utah females. Table 56.
