Show Greeks of t±Le A Pi Phi and a Sigma Chi were honored by Sigma Pi as outstanding Greeks. Named for their contributions to the University and to the fraternity system were Saundra Speers and Michael Soulier. Miss Speers is associate editor of the Uton-ian and president of Mortar Board. She has been a member of Spurs and Cwean and served as National District Director of Spurs. A speech major with a 3.9 average, Mis Speers represents her sorority in Panhellenic. As a member of Sigma Chi, Mr. Soulier has held the offices of Ace of the pledge class, social and rush chairman and Pro Counsel. Prominent in athletics, he served as captain of the track team. Mr. Soulier's activities in student government include the positions of Union Board Chairman and justice of Student Court. Saundra Speers Mike Soulier Honor Fledges 380 Receiving honor pledge awards at Greek Week were Tri Delta Shirley Gaufin and SAE John Halsey. Miss Gaufin claimed the title for her work on the Spotlight committee and the Utonian as well as for participation in Phidelphia and Delta Delta Delta. Mr. Halsey, the second Sigma Alpha Epsilon to capture the award, was active in his fraternity as pledge secretary-treasurer and worked on Homecoming and Greek Week Committees. He was also a Chronicle staff member. |
