Show Fulton Lewis, III and J. D. Williams compare the liberal and conservative political points or view. Political speakers frequented the University campus giving students an opportunity to spend a noon or an evening considering current political affairs and often causing the Union Little Theater to buzz with controversy. Whether the speaker was David S. King, sponsored by the Americans for Democratic Action, speaking on liberalism in America; Fulton Lewis III, brought to the campus by the Young Americans for Freedom, giving the conservative point of view; or National Young Republic&tion Federation chairman, D. E. Luken, encouraging young Republicans to work for their candidates in the upcoming elections, the lectures were always greeted with interest. A high point on the University political scene was the controversial visit of Frank Wilkinson, field director of the National Committee to Abolish the House Un-American Activities Committee.
