Coach Dennis McLaughlin, Guy Arnell, Gunther Muhler, Merlin Madsen, Richard Denton, Jeff Thorne, John O'Malley, Herb Clark, Jim Littig, Del Bartel, Mike Rose, Mike Groneman, Roger Cline, Head Coach Pres Summerhays. Frosh Team Coach Pres Summerhays led his rampaging freshmen football team to the state championship title with a 3-1 season. Garnering a double win over Utah State with scores of 13-6 and 21-0 the Papooses displayed consistent prowess on the football field. They went on to storm BYU, 12-7 and then dropped a game to the Kittens, 20-6 in one of the biggest upsets of the season. The mighty Papooses were tabbed as an excellent backbone of strength for the varsity squad for the next three seasons.
