Show HOW A PROM CHAIRMAN ROUDY ALLEN IN "DAMNEDSHOULD LOOK BY DEN YEN SEN IP I LIKE IT"NEW EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMBut the biggest saving of all has yet to be explained. This is the change in educational systems. The old system of the prof and the hard assignments has proven so unpopular that it has been definitely abandoned in favor of the latest and most painless method of knowledge-absorption -the movie method. This is a method every one understands and will no doubt prove very popular. The library will be fitted with a screen and a lantern, and five shows a day will be the limit of registration. Degrees will be granted of C. C, M. P., W. S. H, and T. B., depending on whether the school chosen is Keystone, Soft Stuff, Westerns or Vamps. The zoology department will offer the first film, which will be "The Dog's Life." Other films which will follow it are "Stella Maris," offered by the Latin department; "The White Man's Law," given by Dean Leary; "Tarzan of the Apes," given under the direction of Professor Coray; "Let's Get a Divorce," an object lesson for the Barristers, and "Intolerance, ' by the faculty generally. Other equally educational films will follow. If this is followed, the rest of the University buildings will be disposed of. Contracts have already been let which willturn the stiff lab into a slaughter house, the chem labs into making Hopo, the new malt beverage, and the shops into a reformatory for forgers. Other companies are considering the rest of the buildings, and the result will be wholly satisfactory. Thus it is that Utah takes her place where she belongs, the first to adopt really gentle means of education.INWITHUS¦ (The song of a University Vamp, with an unqualified admission that it is a shame thus to maltreat William K. Henley's masterful poem.)Out of the powder that covers me, White as the snow from chin to nose, I thank whatever art there be, For my inalienable beaus. In the face of the most searching glance I have not winked where ere I roamed In preparations for the dance, My head is empty but well-combed.Beyond this place of pins and poise Looms but the beauty of the hall And yet the bids of all the' boys Find and shall find me at the ball.Page Two Hundred Fifty-two-b |
