Note |
The University of Utah has made former and current yearbooks from various campus entities available in print and via its digital library archive. These documents contain facts and milestones about the history of the University of Utah. In some cases, these publications contain insensitive and offensive language and imagery that does not represent the views or values of the University of Utah. Insensitive and offensive portrayals of race and gender were wrong at the time these publications were originally printed, and they are wrong today. The yearbooks are presented as they were originally created and have not been edited or censored-to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices and biases never existed. - July 2019 |

OCR Text |
Show THE DRAMATIC COUNCILRepresenting student and faculty interests in dramatics, the Dramatic Council is elected by popular vote of the student body. The duties of the council are many and varied. In general the group acts as a supervisory and advisory board for all dramatic activities. Early in the season the council outlines the complete program for the entire year. Its duties include the selection of the varsity drama, the Freshman play, the student managers, the judges in play tryouts, and the supervision of all financial matters attendant upon dramatic productions. The concluding business of the group is the approval of the student managers' accounts and the recommendations for student awards.Gail Plummer has served competently as the chairman of the board this year. Professor Maud May Babcock and Dr. Schneider were the other faculty members. The student members were Kay Hardy, one year representative, and Margaret Jacobsen, representative for two years.Henry McGean managed the business end of dramatic activities in an efficient style and made the dramatic performances a financial success.Henry McGean Dramatic ManagerMcGeanBabcockJacobsenHardyPlummerPage One Hundred Twenty-five |
