Large hearth fills composition; spinning wheel in fore- ground, plus various other "props and paraphernalia" that ap- pear in many of Harwood's other pictures; lower portion of Blowing So@ Babbles, which has a position of prominence over the mantel, can be seen. Boy with Trap 1905 Willard sits (center left) next to foliage (right) and works on a trap. Shown at 1905 Salon. This is a companion picture to her husband's portrait (see Number 124). Pioneer Boy or The Boy Pioneer 1906-25 Oil. Reminiscence of the artist's boyhood. A boy sitting (ex- treme right, facing left, legs outstretched) near an old tree mending an arrow, with his bow and arrows (foreground) and (originally) a dead bird on the ground near him. In 1925 the dead bird was painted out and more brilliant color introduced throughout. Painting exhibited in Paris Salon in 191 I and 170
