Show 132 Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters [Vol. XIV, hoppers per stomach is figured for stomachs found to contain tenellus. These small lizards run rapidly and hide quickly; only a small percentage of the lizards present in any particular area were ever collected. Many lizards taken near host plants of tenellus had undoubtedly come recently from nearby non hosts, and may not have fed among Russian thistle or other acceptable hosts of tenellus. Consistent feeding often occurred, with lizards apparently seek ing out heavily infested beet leafhopper host plants. Frequently lizards were found under heavily infested plants, especially so during late September and early October, at the time the leafhoppers congregate upon the diminishing number of host plants, frost and maturity causing the host plant stand to rapidly die out in the fall.
