Show Architectural Des~_ription The Milford Union Pacific Depot is apr ! ,'If'! example of Mission Style architecture. It is a two story stuccc. building with a red tile hip roof and two curvilinear cross gables which divide . the facade into three bays. 'lbere is an arcadt:! with a red tile roof ac c.:·ss the first floor of the facade and dQ\lm the s hk::i of the building which is broken at each of the gables. At each end of the arcade is an elaborate gate\'1ay to the short section of arcade which runs do\'V'O each side of the building. . 'lbere are six over six double:: hung sash windm'ls on the second floor, and round headed \·lindo\'1s on the first floor, both under the arcade and across the face o~ the gable. '!he fan type of window division in each of the arched winckl\'Is is repeat -x) over doors which are undec the arcade. On the second story of the facade of each gable is one long round headed windO\'l centered between two uouble hung sash windm-ls. Two bays of the arcade on the north end of the facade are closed and have double hung sash windows. '!he syrnmv;:ry of the facade is not repeated on the rear of the building. Only one of the cross gables cuts entirely through the building to form a rear wing. That wing has a curvilinear gable divided by a short . chDnney stack. There are three one story rear additions of stucco with red tile roofs which are probably original. If any major alterations have been made, they are not evident on the facacl~. Several of the doors may have been addecl at a later date, but do not significantly detract from the pattern of the openfngs to affect the original integrity of the building. |
