Now, due to thirty years of domination of its national consciousness by the cynical left, most of America is incapable of taking any message seriously unless it be expressed caustically, in its upside-down, negative form. "Father Knows Best" is laughed off the air, "All in the Family" is laughed on the air. And, it seemed to the Elder as he lay here in his good, big bed listening to the powerful unconscious part of his brain talking to him by a direct line now, that the Great Battle should be depicted at first in a sufficiently perverted, negative, evilly energetic format and fashion. The presentation should leer and reek, as though the hack who'd been assigned to throw it together had been made privy only to the seedy, immediate-seeming motivation of the project, which would simply be to titillate our morbid national voyeurism with scenes of carnage and illicit homoerotic passion. The Great Battle could be presented as with that low purpose, rather than with the real, deep, serious, subliminal, ultimate political purpose. And people would pay attention and be moved by its negative example. The struggle of the homegrown boys against the leftist parasites, so packaged, could cause a fairly powerful backlash-reaction - just as that not-so-soft "mainstream pornography" of Mailer and Vidal and Roth paved the way for good reactionary Reverend Fallwell. But this new reaction would be on a more fundamentally political level, rather than merely moral; and, just as the political had been prepared for by the moral, the new reaction would borrow and build upon the energy of the old.
