D: 45 cm. Collection of LDS Historical Department. This slat-back chair, hand-hewn from branches, characterizes the resourcefulness of the pioneers. Probably not made by a trained chairmaker, the chair is held together by the woven rawhide seat, is perfectly adapted to rough use, and possesses an honest, simple appeal. 25 |
