He, Gerdine, was supervising the work, and visited Mr. Trimble to see that he was getting along all right to use if he was keeping up with the schedule, and what, if any, obstacles were ahead of him as that if he didn't complete the work allotted to him, other men could be put in to try and complete the job in that one season. R. 1860. " BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: " Q. What is a limiting contour? " A. If you will notice, we carried the topography up to the thirty- nine hundred foot contour, thirty- nine hundred foot contour above sea level. " Q. You disregard everything above that? " A. yes, sir." R. 1860- 1861. This limiting contour was approximately the upper contour of the proposed reservoir- site; and the map was made primarily to make an estimate of the storage capacity of the proposed reservoir. " Q. Do I understand that the top of this dam as proposed to be constructed would have been thirty- nine hundred feet? " A. No, they might have constructed a dam of any height, that was simply to get the data up to thirty- nine hundred feet, so they would have the data if we wanted to construct that high; I don't think they ever proposed to make a dam that height, eight hundred foot dam in that canyon. " THE SPECIAL MASTER: In order to get it into the record, let it be shown the contour figures on this Exhibit |
