Show 737 were Nathan Galloway, of Richfield, Utah; S. S. Budendorf, of Kyton, Utah; Mr. C. C. Sharp, of Nelsonville, Ohio; and Mr. R. A. Cogswell. This party left Green River, Wyoming, September 12, 1909. R. 1774- 1775. " Q. How was the party arranged in these boats? " A. Mr. Galloway had a boat to himself, so did Mr. Sharp, so did I; Dudendorf carried Cogswell in his boat. Cogswell was a photographer. Mr. Sharp and Mr. Galloway and I carried the supplies through the expedition, that is, practically all of them. " Q. Had Mr. Galloway had any experience on the river? " A. Yes, sir, a great deal. " Q. Did he also set as guide? " A. As much as anybody could. " Q. Just describe the progress of this expedition from Green River, Wyoming, down to Greenriver, Utah. " A. He naturally followed the river in the open part of it, between Green River, Wyoming, and the north Utah line, which marks the beginning of the entire canyon system, practically. Through that open country, I think we covered that in about three, maybe four days. We had quite a little trouble with send and mud bars, but not to amount to anything, that is, they just impeded the progress, made a little bother in getting off of them here and there." R. 1775.
