Show 568 at Greenriver, Utah on May 25th. R. 1383. He kept stenographic notes during the trip and identified a type written paper, handed him by council, as a correct transcription of his notes, the transcription being made by a stenographic expert in Washington. R. 1384. Exhibits Nos. 146 to 178 inclusive, identified by him as photographs taken by him on the trip. Exhibit No. 173 explains the Exhibits No. 147 to 172 and the locality in which whey were taken. R. 1384. Complainants Exhibit No. 174, offered in evidence. R. Vol. 7 - 1384. Exhibit No. 174 is the transcription of notes identified by him. The original copy of the notes made by him on the trip were given to the Government, a copy of the same being returned to the him. He does not know where the original notes are, has never seen them since he turned them over to the Government and has not compared the original with the Transcript, Exhibit No. 174. R. 1385 The transcript Exhibit No. 174 was made within the past year by a Government stenographic in Washington. The supposes that the copy of Exhibit No. 174 and his own copy were made at the same time from the original. Because of poor eye- sight he never made a transcription of his own shorthand notes but has read the copy of Exhibit No. 174. R. 1386. His original stenographic notes were returned |
