When he went into the country to Indian Creek and vicinity, part of his employment was to examine and determine whether to drill a well at Indian Creek if the freight could be brought down that way. He did not made a report to his company on it " I was accompanied by our chief geologist,[ R. C. Coffin, R. 1361] and I presume he did." R. 1360. His experience on the San Juan River has been doing geology mainly along the banks of the river itself. He was in there at various times since 1921 to 1926 and he has covered the San Juan River from Farmington, New Mexico, to the Nokai structure, which is twenty- five miles east of the confluence of the Colorado and the San Juan River.
