Correlation of paleomagnetic inclination feature associated with Wono tephra ( 27,300 ± 300 C- 14 yr B. P.) in Lake Chewaucan sediments with inclination feature from Lake Russell sediments. Wono tephra was deposited under shallow lake conditions in both Lake Lahontan ( Benson et al., 1997) and Lake Chewaucan ( Negrini and Davis, 1992). Paleomagnetic correlation allows climate comparison to be extended to Lake Russell sediments even though the tephra layer is not found in these sediments. |
