Salinity index is a ratio of salinity- tolerant to salinity- intolerant ostracodes ( e. g., Palacios- Fest et al, 1993). Silt/ clay ratio was measured with a laser- granulometer and sieve/ pipette analysis ( Erbes, 1996). Marine 0- 18 data are from Martinson et al. ( 1987).
