Show AN AMENDED NOTICE OP WATER APPROPRIATION FOLLOWING OTHER NOTICES FILED WITH THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR ARIZONA, WITH THE RECORDER OF PINAL COUNTY, ARIZONA, AND WITH THE RECORDER OF MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, DURING THE YEAR 1912. Notice is hereby given that the United States of America hereby locates, laims and appropriates perpetually the water of the Gila River and its tributaries, torrential or otherwise, flowing in the channel of the Gila River to the extent of 150,000 (one hundred and fifty thousand) acre feet per annum for the purpose or irrigation and domestic use on lands reserved for Indians in Pinal and Maricopa Counties, state of Arizona, said 15>0,000 acre feet to include that part of the normal or low water flow of the Gila River which said Indian lands are entitled to receive for their irrigation by right of prior appropriation and use. The United States intends to construct and maintain a dam across the Gila River for the diversion of said quantity of water at or in the vicinity of a point within the Gila River Reservation, in Township 1; South, Range 7 East, of the Gila and Salt River Meridian, known as the Santan canal heading or at such other suitable point along the course of the Gila River east of the said Santan Canal Heading as may be selected by engineers of the Goi'ernment. The United States intends to construct and maintain a canal on the North side of the Gila River, and a similar canal on the south side of the Gila River, each commencing at a point in the vicinity of the said diversion dam to be constructed across said river, as hereinbefore described, and continuing each to its respective terminus at the extreme west end of the Gila River Reservation in Township 1 South, Range 1 East, of the Gila and Salt River Meridian, for conveying water to the said Indian lands. The right to change the point of diversion of said water is expressly reserved.
